An apple a day...if that's all it took to get all the necessary nutrients we needed then nutrition would be so easy. However, we need to consume 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables daily to make sure that we are getting all the 13 different vitamins and 17 different minerals that our body requires to function effectively. But, what do these vitamins and minerals actually do for us? Well, our bodies consist of millions of cells that are constantly being regenerated. To perform optimally and to stay healthy, each cell needs a certain amount of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins are necessary for the production of red blood cells and to maintain the nervous, skeletal and immune systems while minerals are needed to help regulate body functions, release energy and assist growth.

Food is a major source of vitamins and minerals but due to over processing and poor handling, many of the nutrients found naturally in the food we eat are removed or depleted even before they reach us. In addition to this, we consume too much fast food, fatty snacks, carbonated waters, caffeine, sugar and salt that render us vitamin-deficient. This is one of the main reasons that you should consider taking vitamin supplements—to make sure your body gets what it needs to function properly and efficiently. The proper amount of micro nutrients in our bodies will lead to more efficient functioning and better health. It may be difficult to eat a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Therefore, multivitamin supplements are the best form of receiving the right amount of all the micro nutrients our bodies require and to reach the recommended daily requirements.

What to Look for in a Multivitamin?
When you are looking for a multivitamin, you should tell your health practitioner if you suffer from any chronic ailments. Other than this, the reason behind taking a multivitamin should be taken into consideration. Do you need an energy boost? Does your body require more antioxidants to offset your lifestyle choices? Are you constantly stressed? Are you on a strict diet that might be lacking in certain nutrients? Do you work out regularly or exercise / train heavily? All of these circumstances require different multivitamins with different specific formulas. In addition to catering towards these special needs, you should also make sure the multivitamin contains the recommended daily allowance for the 13 essential vitamins (A, C, D, E, K, B12, and 7 B-complex vitamins). The ideal multivitamin needs to have the right balance of vitamins, minerals, nutrients and amino acids to offer the maximum therapeutic advantage.

Effervescent Multivitamins.
The latest word in multivitamins these days is eeffervescent tablets. These tablets have the advantage of being consumed in soluble form allowing for speedy and more complete absorption as compared to conventional tablets. Faster absorption means quicker onset of action and the liquid form also makes it easier to consume. Effervescent powders or tablets dissolve in liquids, preferably water and this method reduces localized contact in the upper gastrointestinal tract. This reduces the possibility of irritation and increases tolerability to the supplement. In many cases, one measure of effervescent multivitamins will equal to three conventional tablets in active dose amounts. Most importantly, eeffervescent powders contain no binding agents. Although tablets can be non-coated they still contain chemical binding agents. A powdered form like MultiVescence is purer. MultiVescence is an effervescent powder with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids and CoQ10. When mixed with water, or any fruit juice, it forms a delicious, nutritious effervescent drink to boost health. By combining a healthy diet and moderate exercise along with MultiVescence, you’re well on your way to achieving optimal health!
