Food and water together can take care of your skin. If you have 8-10 glasses of water everyday you not only lose the toxic substances from your body but your skin also stays supple. Some foods provide nutrients that nourish the skin. The nutrients found in foods benefit the skin more than moisturizers, toners or other creams and lotions.

Foods that nourish the skin

1. Almonds

The skin of almond contains an antioxidant called flayonoid, which protects skin cells from damage. An ounce of almonds may provide you the daily requirement of vitamin E. Vitamin E has the capacity to fight off the free radicals which cause wrinkles on the skin.

Munching raw almonds is a wonderful idea. If you don’t enjoy them much then you can mash them and add to your glass of milk or add them to your yogurt

2. Carrots

Carrots have vitamin A, which are very beneficial for the eyes. They also prevent the skin from getting dry. If your skin is able to retain moisture then the skin would not get wrinkled. It is believed that eating too many carrots may make your skin

You can add carrots to you salad. You can boil then to make a hot soup or make a glass full of juice.

3. Salmon

Salmons have great value. They keep weight in check and also keep your skin soft. They add luster to you skin. Salmons contain omega-3 fatty acids which don’t allow skin pores to clog and keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

You might enjoy eating fried salmons but it would be better if you have them boiled or baked. This would keep the values and the fat increasing oils would not enter your body.

4. Avocados

This fruit contains a lot of fiber, Vitamin B6, C and E, Potassium and magnesium. They help your skin to look young and replenished.

You can mix avocados in you guacamole and relish the fruit with tomatoes, onions and cilantro.

5. Sun Flower Seeds

Sun Flower Seeds slow down the development of saggy, wrinkled skin. These seeds have a good content of vitamin E — an antioxidant that decelerates the aging of skin cells, keeping us looking younger longer. Vitamin E also helps in diminishing the appearance of scars. .

You may add 2 table spoons of sunflower seeds over salad or mix unsalted sunflower seeds with raisins and make a yummy snack for the evening.

6. Berries

Berries have vitamin C which helps in production of collagen that keeps your muscles and skin tight. Thus, help in reducing the chances of fine lines to appear on your skin.

You can add berries to your breakfast cereals.

7. Kiwi

Kiwis have the highest content of vitamin C when compared with other fruits. Even kiwi helps in the production of collagen and thus keeps the skin tight.

You can have raw kiwi after peeling off its furry skin.

Fine lines start appearing on the skin from the age of 25 if you don’t take care of your skin. If you include natural foods with nutritional values in your diet then you will not have to resort to chemically treated creams to treat your skin. Before you reach 25 you must consult a good dietitian and start consuming stuffs mentioned in your diet chart.
